FRP duct rod is mainly composed of core rod and reinforced outer layer. The rod body is made of alkali-free glass fiber through the pultrusion process, which has the characteristics of strong toughness, large pulling force, not easy to break, and anti-aging. The outer layer is made of highly durable, scratch-resistant ABS, which protects the core from mechanical damage. In addition, we can also produce 11mm duct rods with metal wire. This 11mm duct rod is also called a traceable duct rod or a detectable duct rod. Using a piece of copper or steel wire, the pipe rod can be traced easily through the pipe. After the fiberglass pole is produced, we will install removable copper heads on both sides of the pole to pull the rope into the pipe or conduit.
A large diameter duct rod is a specialized tool used to install cables and conduits in larger and often more complex underground or concealed spaces. These pipe rods are designed to handle the unique challenges presented by large pipes and ducts for which standard size pipe rods may not be adequate.
Material: high-strength fiberglass + ABS composite material
Other rod size: 10mm, 12mm,13mm,14mm,15mm,16mm,17mm,18mm
Accessories: Conduit rod accessories are additional tools or components that enhance the functionality and usability of the conduit rod during cable installation and related tasks. The specific accessories you need may depend on your project requirements and the type of duct rodder you are using.
Here are some common duct rod accessories:
Rod Grapple, Roller Guide, Drawing Head, Flexible Leader, Swivel Connector, Repair Kit
Size: Large diameter duct rods are significantly thicker and stronger than standard size duct rods. They are typically used on conduits and conduits that are several inches or larger in diameter and can be found in industrial and utility applications.
Strength: These poles are made from high-strength materials such as fiberglass or composite, ensuring they can withstand the greater forces required to navigate and install cables in larger pipes.
Flexibility: Despite their larger diameter, these rods are designed to be flexible enough to fit through bends, curves and obstructions within conduits. They maintain structural integrity while providing necessary maneuverability.

Versatility: Large diameter duct rod can be used in a variety of industries, including utility (e.g., power, water, sewer), telecommunications, and industrial settings. They are particularly useful for installing large power cables, fiber optic cables or other critical infrastructure components.
Efficiency: Due to their size and strength, these poles can make the installation process more efficient and cost-effective. They can reduce the need for extensive digging and trenching, which can be time-consuming and expensive when using larger pipes.
Safety: Safety considerations are critical when working with large diameter duct rods. Proper training and following safety protocols are critical to avoiding accidents and damage to the infrastructure or the pole itself.
Traceability: Some large-diameter duct rods may contain traceability elements, such as fiberglass filaments impregnated with conductive material or the ability to attach a signal transmitter. features help position rods and cables within the conduit for maintenance and repairs.

fiberglass duct rodder outside the manhole - fiberglass duct rodder to the sides to ensure ground stability
Pull the catheter rod tip out of the spool and through the pilot hole on the rod frame
Slowly feed the rod into the cable duct, manhole or conduit
Manually push the duct rod through the duct - additional force is required to get into the elbow
If the conduit length exceeds the length of the conduit rod, attach the additional length of rod
When the duct rod reaches the far end of the duct, attach a pull cord or guy wire to the tip of the duct rod
From the entry end of the conduit, pull the conduit rod out of the conduit and back into the frame. Do not use mechanical methods to pull the catheter stem out of the catheter
Remove the pull cord or guy wire from the end of the conduit/conduit rod and thread the end of the conduit rod through the eyelet and back into the frame
We recommend conduit rods that are appropriately sized for your project. If you have questions, please contact us.
